Richard Drury Posted June 30, 2014 Report Posted June 30, 2014 Does anyone know where I might locate the IPMS 1/48/1/32 decals titled "National Insignia of Laos?" It was apparently available from a place called Crosswind Hobbies but their website appears defunct. SandyOne
MarkYoungCrewChief Posted July 11, 2014 Report Posted July 11, 2014 Richard, No, I don't have any info for you, but you have made me curious. Are you sure they were IPMS decals? I found an IPMS Review of the decals, that were provided by Crosswinds. http://www.ipmsusa3.org/reviews/Decals/Aircraft/crosswind_72_laos-decals/crosswind_72_laos-decals.htm Try looking up http://flightdecs.ca/ They are a Canadian outfit that list Crosswind decals, but does not display this particular set. You might contact them and see if they have any suggestions. My decal collection is not available to me right now, but when I get home (and think about it), I'll see if I might have something that will help. No promises, not really much of a suspicion, but I will look. It will be next week at the earliest. Good luck on your quest.
MarkYoungCrewChief Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 Richard, Went through my decals last night and I do not have any Laotian decals. I wish you luck in your quest.
Richard Drury Posted July 18, 2014 Author Report Posted July 18, 2014 Thank you all. Correct...the decal sheet was made by Crosswinds and reviewed by IPMS. Apparently Crosswinds is long gone and those Laotion decals are rare as unicorns! I'll persevere!

rbeach84 Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 (edited) Richard, try inquiring with Flight Decs (as Mark indicated) out of Canada. Sometimes it is difficult to get a good answer but you should try since they have at least one sheet with Laotian markings : http://flightdecs.ca/A_crosswind.htm Ah, now looking at it, the one sheet is for a 1/72 scale 'Criquet' (aka 'Storch'.) Sorry! Looks like you'll have to draw and print your own. OpenOffice has a vector drawing tool ('DRAW') included; download the entire office suite for free from: https://www.openoffice.org/ Good tool, and vector graphics are fully scalable with no distortion or pixelation.
