    A5M2

Wingsy Kits 1/48 A5M2 just finished. Great Kit! Not for beginners but, I am looking forward to building more of their kits. The detail is superb on this kit. Excellent instructions and decals
  3. Starting a new build! This will be my second Dora Wings kit. So far it seems to be the same high quality as the last one. \
  4. Finished! Now on display....warts and all....
  5. I used Alclad 2 airframe aluminum along with Alclad gloss black primer. these are the latest pics
  6. It's a shame because the quality of Zvezda's products is very good. I can't help but wonder how long it's going to take for the russian people to wake up.
  7. Decided to go for an all metal finish.
  8. Here's another update....I like to use black CA to fill seams and then polish them out. If you are sparing with it you can really get a nice finish. Manicure polishing tools really work well. Just don't let your wife know where they come from...
  9. latest pic of the Beaufort build....
  10. So far, this has been a reasonably easy build. The instructions are very clear. Extremely small amount of flashing. The parts all seem to fit well with only common sense trimming, sanding and adjusting. I am really impressed with Mig Ultra Liquid Mask. I "Hate" masking canopies with tape! Also, the new blue glue....I wonder why we didn't think of this one sooner.
  11. latest project....Airfix 1/72 Bristol BEAUFORT..... One of my all time favorite airplanes. Would love to get a 1/48 scale kit of this plane. hopefully Airfix will do one in this scale.

Thank you! Taking a little break for my nerves! This is not going to be a "Magnum Opus"...... but, since I haven't really built anything for a few months it's a good project to get my "muscle memory" back! I am amazed as to how quickly we lose the skills if we don't continue to use them. Also.....the changes that have happened in the last year or so.....

Future dries quick! Love it! Pulled the masking off the canopy and was really pleased with how well it came out.

It's drying time again.....coat of Future to seal everything and get ready for decals

The canopy has been masked off and will be ready for paint as soon as it dries. Just good old masking tape and AMMO LIQUID MASK. Starting to really like that stuff

It's my version of Tamiya zinc-chromate. I like Tamiya paints for a lot of things because they seem to be a water based lacquer. You don't necessarily need a primer. I especially like them for painting canopies. I can do a coat of interior color, then what ever exterior color is appropriate. This way it looks like you painted the inside. Here is the latest "installment" on the FJ-1. I just painted the seams with flat aluminum and now will use Ca to repair any flaws. The Flat Aluminum color shows any flaws at all.

yes. I added sidewalls to the wells, some "stringers" and "hydraulic lines".
  22. I'm trying to locate a color mixing wheel. I prefer to mix my own paints. An example would be what colors would you mix in what percentages to create German dark grey green. Anyone with an idea please pass it along to me.
