Started this kit to do a fun build of something outside my normal builds. It was a quick build, pretty much built in under 2 hours. Unfortunately, I will be needing to do lots of putty and sanding but I am still happy with it and looking forward to seeing it finished.

Hey everyone! While as Secretary I was not the one in charge of planning these events, I was a part of the discussion leading up to the convention and I wanted to let you know that there was much discussion revolving around how to best resolve the two main components of the event; not keeping everyone there for hours AND recognizing those who received awards. I understand the points you're making and the frustration with the way it was done this year. Please know that I have copied down the issues you mentioned as well as your suggestions for our next meeting and future discussions regarding the awards ceremony. I also want to thank y'all for including suggestions to improve it. I know this might not be the detailed answer you're looking for but I wanted to jump on here and make sure you knew that you're not only heard but that this will be getting discussed also. Ron Bell is correct! Lots of things are being discussed and I'm sure they will have it posted as soon as they can. Everyone is working hard to make sure Nats continues to be the best it can so keep an eye out as information continues to roll out as things are finalized.

Hey everyone! Longtime lurker and figured I should probably sign up for the forums and be an active member. I've been building models off and on for the last 25 years and recently coming back from a long hiatus. I primarily build cold war jets but I also will build others that catch my eye. Looking forward to posting more and interacting here on the forums!

This is the third kit I've built after coming back from a long break. I tried some new techniques I hadn't tried before such as tinting the clear canopy and black basing. I used some aftermarket decals this time which gave me some trouble. I started with the red lightning bolts and learned they don't mix well with micro-sol and micro-set as they started peeling. The decals for the walkways on the wings and top of the fuselage also kept breaking and not fitting right. Overall though I am happy with the end result.
