Dick Montgomery Posted November 20, 2010 Report Share Posted November 20, 2010 To showcase the interests of SIGs, and to show the interests of those who participate in Group Builds, Challenge Builds, and Theme Builds, a dedicated Album within the IPMS Galley has been created. . You can view this album by going to http://www.ipmsusa3.org/gallery/main.php. Some of the content has been in the Gallery for some time and you may have already visited other Albums and viewed some of these images. These albums have now been collected in placed into one convenient location. The GCTS Album (Group, Challenge, Theme, SIGs) currently features some Group Builds including, “Battlestar Galactica Models” built by IPMS Members, and the “Williams Brothers Models” built by IPMS Members. There are two Challenge Theme Albums featuring models built by members of the current EB. The first album features Armor models and the second album featured “Automotive” subjects. These two Challenge Build Albums show that the EB members have a wide and varied interest in modeling subjects. You are invited to contribute to the GCTS album! It’s easy to do and has some distinct advantages for your club, SIG, or interest group. Just follow these simple steps: 1. Send out an invitation through the forum. The Battlestar Galactica and Williams Bros. Group Builds were announced on the forum in the appropriate areas and members simply signed up in that thread. Images were then contributed for display when the models were completed. 2. Invite by email. You may have a group of friends to whom you can issue a “challenge”. Invite your pals to pick a subject, set a deadline, and get the ball rolling. 3. Encourage your Chapter members to participate in a Chapter Group Build or Challenge Build. Highlight your Chapter and let others see that your chapter has modelers with a wide variety of interests and a wide range of skill levels. 4. Please PM me or email me (ipmspresident@ipmsusa.org) to get an album set up for you or to get answers to any questions that may arise. An album can be created and set up for your group and images can be added as soon as those images become available. If you wish “in progress” shots of models being built that is no problem. The albums can be organized to handle that request. Submitting images: 1. For a small number of images(less than 10) it is advisable to send them as attachments to an email. 2. For 10 or more images you will be given some instructions that will allow you to upload your images directly to server. It’s quick, its’ easy, and it requires no techie expertise. All that needs to happen is that you or your Chapter organize your project, get the project moving, and then start sending those images! By the way, we’re still looking for contributions to the Battlestar Galactica Group Build and the Williams Brothers Models Group build.
