  1. UPDATE!! Went to Scottcon show held by the IPMS group in Warner Robins. GA. My the Heinkel He 177 Greif came in 1st place in Military Multiprop All Scales. It caught me by surprise. This is what I am currently working on. Was another kit I had for a very long time. Also, I plan to be at IPMS Atlanta show this Sat. March 9th. Come by and say hello. Time to start masking.
  2. Do not know. Just was how the decals were made. I assume it was standard livery for Romanian Air Force.
  3. One of my kits I had for a long time. Was alot of work and the original decals went on very well. I was surprised. I enjoyed putting this one together and the challenges I had. Hope ya'll enjoy.
  4. I used a small sponge with paint on to make the chipped paint look on the plane.
  5. Bought this kit from a thrift store 15 years ago for a quarter. So what the heck, I tried something different and challenging. Was trying to build it OOB and make it look the best my skills could do.
  6. Not my best effort but will learn from it.
  7. I used mainly Testors Master Model paints. I found a chart online that shows a list of Humrol numbers compared to the other brands of paints. The chart I found did not specifically had Testors but they show FS numbers. I use Future for clear coats and Testors Flat Lacquer.
  8. This is Silly Putty, It is a childs toy and has been around for a long time. Here is a wikipedia link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silly_Putty Here are some pictures.
  9. Had alot of problems with the decals. They broke apart when I got them wet and when I used Microsol to set them, they got real gummy. So it turn out ok but at least I have a Draken in my collection. Always wanted to build one.
  10. One word of advice. Once silly putty lines touch another silly putty line. Thats it. You won't be able to adjust much.
  11. Camo is airbrushed. Used silly putty to mask the lines. First I painted the whole plane tan then put down silly putty lines down. Then painted the plane dark green and put another set of silly putty lines next to the first set. Then painted the whole plane olive drab. Then I removed all of the putty.
  12. Also, these are new tooling airfix kits with engraved panel lines . They are great little kits .
  13. I used silly putty for the masking .
  14. These are all of the new tooling airfix kits and I can tell you they are great . There are no flash and the fit is near perfect . Plus these kits are cheap in price. The decals are nice and they take to decal solution really good . I really like these new airfix kits .
  15. Model Show Update: Went to IPMS Huntsville Alabama show this weekend. Came in 3rd for Out Of Box. There were a ton of planes in all aircraft categories. This the Airfix 1/72 Sabre from the Airfix Club set.
  16. Update: Went to my first model contest since coming back into the hobby. And I took 2nd place Jet Aircraft 1/72 or smaller with my first model I did. I was excited.
