azAZ09
I have some color slides of F-51D's of the 67th FBG in Korea. All the planes appear to be painted over all with a dull silver lacquer. Even the spinners. Anyone got any other info/confirmation on this?
Bob Dedmon
I have some color slides of F-51D's of the 67th FBG in Korea. All the planes appear to be painted over all with a dull silver lacquer. Even the spinners. Anyone got any other info/confirmation on this? More likely it was un-polished aluminum. These were tired 'D' models taken from the Guard as there weren't enough later model birds for Korea. The 67th gave up P-80's for these aircraft to deploy to Korea during the war and had little time for the niceties of pimping their aircraft. As a former "Fighting Cock" I'd be interested in seeing those shots. I'm in the middle of building a family tree of the 67th, I still need to build an F-86, F-100 D, F-4D and an F-105D. It would nice to finish it before the re-equip with F-35s.
