I'm an older modeler, a returnee from the '50's. I am obviously an IPMS member, but do not belong to a local club. I enter IPMS contests regularly and occasionally win something. I model more slowly and carefully than I did last year and seem to enjoy that more. I have a number of 'orphan' kits - in progress over a long period - but not too many. I only have about 50 unbuilt kits and I tend to buy infrequently and only those that I am very taken with. I do not mind spending significant amounts for significant kits. I will eventually buy, for example, a 1/32 Tamiya Spitfire. Anyone who loves quality and detailed models would be a fool not to.
