  1. Thanks guys. I will take some pictures of a couple I finished. Keep in mind that both models were damaged by Daisy Maids and their feather dusters, Even after they were told to stay away. Did what I could to repair. My main project is Blue Jacket's USS Olympia. As far as plastic goes I am working on Revell's USS Mission Capistrano. I am just starting on it so I don't have much to show.

  2. I know this is an old thread but I will give my 2 cents because I use Testor's rattle cans top coats. I have gotten some good results by shaking them for a minute, then place them in warm water for a few minutes, usually 5 or so. Then give them another good shaking. I also use their lacquer cleaner to clean off the nozzle before and after spraying.

  3. Very informative explanation, but I was just stating that Testor's Dullcote and Glosscote can be used over (I should have said Testor's) enamels and acrylics even though it is lacquer based. I don't know if you can use it over other manufacture's paints. As for the 91% alcohol, I found that out the hard way on enamel paint when I was trying to do some filtering and washes. I used the alcohol to clean and moisten the paint brushes and it did a number on the paint!

  4. I keep a log of type of paint, thinning ratios, pressure used, and how much the needle is open. It helps me keep track of what works and what doesn't. A double action airbrush is more complicated to use, in my opinion, and will require lots of practice just as a single action will.

  5. My name is Ronald Wilkinson (Draper, UT affiliated with IPMS SLC and Southern Front) and there might be some confusion on my IPMS number. When I first joined in October of 2010 my IPMS number was 47527, but I have noticed my number is now 47528. Thought I had better find out which number is correct.

    Thanks,

    Ron W.
