I have the Skyhook Models Icarus in a smaller scale. I recall taking a photo of a rusted out Icarus on the bottom of the lake in a larger scale at a contest.

There is also this beauty in 1/72 from Fantastic Plastic. http://www.fantastic-plastic.com/RukrIcarus-CatalogPage.htm

Or there is the crashed Icarus kit from Federation Models. http://www.federationmodels.com/ Navigate to "Model Kits" then "Skyhook Models". The Icarus will be the first entry.

Hi, Steve,

You asked essentially the same question here in March 2010. Go to Page 4 of 6 below in the Sci-Fi section of this Forum to see my photos of the Icarus by Skyhook Models in your other thread. I used dozens of freeze-frame photos from the first three films as references. Skyhood did the best job of capturing the shape in my opinion. The bigger model from Monsters in Motion has the wrong taper to the fuselage and gets too fat too quickly at the base. The nose cone looks like a squat thimble instead of a graceful cone. I also disagree with the copper color of the nose cone; it does not appear that color in any of the films.

A really different presentation would be to have the recovered nose section on a flatbed trailer as shown in the last scene you'll ever see of it in the third film. The nose is so scorched by a second orbital re-entry that the white paint is hardly visible. This particular nose section had two launches, two re-entries, and two water landings in its log book. [Zira and Cornelius didn't have white paint to refresh the finish after fishing Taylor's ship out of the lake. How'd they do that, anyway?]
