DennisTennant
Here's a selection of shots from my bench. I'm adding a lot of additional detail to the M51 despite the fact that this is a nice kit. Grab handles and brush guards were "must change" items. Two tips, paint the road wheels, THEN attach them. Don't glue together the tracks until you have them on the model. You'll never get them past the upper guide wheels.
Mark Aldrich
Beautiful Build!!! Who's PE did you end up switching to or are they strips? :Smile_sceptic:
DennisTennant
Scratchbuilt strips cut from a sheet of .005 brass and soldered together. I couldn't see spending $16 or more for the detail set...
Mark Aldrich
No need to! That was why I was curious! Looks great! :Smile_sceptic:
Ralph Nardone
If you are a masochist, you could replace the kit tracks with the AFV Club T-80 tracks--but you really have to hate yourself. I'm replacing the lousy DML T-80 tracks on their mid-'90s vintage M4A4-based M50 (I built the model when it first came out, but have always wanted decent tracks on it), and I gotta tell ya, they are tedious... Mark Aldrich
The ONLY way to go is the DS track!!!!!!
