Nicknamed the “Raiden” (“Thunderbolt”), J2Ms were powered by an oversized – and often unreliable – Mitsubishi Kasei engine. While the J2M offered exceptional climbing ability, visibility was compromised. As a result, later variants (like the J2M6) were outfitted with bubble canopies and wider cockpits. This limited edition kit features new upper nose panel parts, new canopy parts and one marking option: 1. I.J.N. 302nd N.F.G. “Yo D-183,” Atsugi A.B., Spring, 1945.
