Reminds me of an old Esci kit I bought, I think it was an F-5 Tiger of some flavor that came with a vacuformed base and some support equipment for the airfield.

I would think that the master molds for these items was most likely passed around. Can't see too many companies doing this set from scratch...not all that much demand for the product. Regardless, they are a fun project even though not time-intensive.

I went back to my kit inventory and took a look. This is the ProModeler 85-5930 kit, labeled as "WWII Ground Support Equipment". You'll note that some of the gear is German, some is RAF, and some is US. I remember seeing the ESCI kit but do not remember the specific details.

Our (IPMS) own Box Art Archive has an ESCI item at http://ipmsusa3.org/gallery/v/box_art_album/Manufacturers/EFGH/ESCI/ and another kit in which an F-16 is accompanied by ground support gear. That image is at http://ipmsusa3.org/gallery/v/box_art_album/Manufacturers/EFGH/ESCI/F_16_and_support_group_Esci_4078_48th.jpg.html
