ghodges
The 1/48 Hasagawa kit, built primarily OOTB to maintain my sanity and as a break from the Sopwith Triplane. I did add Eduard pre-painted lap belts and cut the kit 1-piece canopy apart and substituted a Falcon vac center sliding section for the thicker kit piece. Used the kit decals. They seemed a bit thick and slow to settle down, but after 5-10 minutes they softened up and went on quite well in the end. My advice, use some patience if you use Hasagawa decals! The weathering and the exhaust stains are pastel chalks. The chipping was done with a silver colored pencil. Questions, comments, and critiques welcome, as always! Have at it! Cheers! kpatterson
Very nicely done Gil. I like all of Hasegawa's 1/48 Japanese aircraft kits. They are really fun to build and you don't need to add a bunch to them. I know what you mean about the kit decals. The hinomarus are tough to get settled down. I always have to use solvaset on them to get'em to budge. Ken
