dmorrissette
Aviaeology's original RCAF Mosquitoes: Canadians in Fighter Command were very popular when first released as Digital Silk editions a few years ago. Like the recently re-released RCAF Beaufighters , these are back by popular demand. Starting with the 1/72 and 1/48 scale editions, the series has been modified for screen-print production and expanded in subject coverage. As usual a cost-saving pre-order is on offer here... A new release of our previous RCAF Sunderlands set is also now available in both 1/72 and 1/48 scales. The Conversion continues: All new and re-editioned Aviaeology decals to be screen-printed With the new production Beaufighter sets currently back from the printers and already up on our website, the 418 Squadron Mosquito sets and the 422/423 Squadron Sunderland sets have now arrived and a website update will follow: The final out-of-print set slated for re-work - '009 RCAF FR Spitfires - will be made ready for re-issue early in the New Year. With that, we will have completed the conversion from Digital Silk to small-run screen-print production. All of the other currently available Aviaeology decal sets have been produced by screen printing. In fact, some sets within the recently reworked IJN Codes series have already gone to reprint. Going forward, as previously stated, we may use the Digital Silk method for small complex elements (like nose art) from time to time to be determined on a per-project basis, but the main sheet(s) of any given decal set will be screen printed. RCAF Mosquitoes of 418 Squadron in 1/72 & 1/48 scale Compared to the three aircraft options of the earlier editions, this set has also been modified to include: * an additional markings variation option for W/C Bannock's aircraft "Hairless Joe" based on ongoing research; *1x additional subject option in the form of 2TAF era aircraft "V", "Amigo Panchito" flown by S/L Vic Cherry; * additions also include a comprehensive set of airframe stencil data (with variations) and late-war 2TAF type upper wing roundels on the decal sheets, as well as more reference photos and drawings in the documentation. The new subject addition - S/L Cherry's "Amigo Panchito" - represents an opportunity to add a not-often-seen 2 TAF era 418 Squadron Mosquito, complete with nose art, to your collection. Suggested Retail pricing: AOD48005m RCAF Mosquitoes in 1/48 scale - $14.89 AOD72005m RCAF Mosquitoes in 1/72 scale - $11.
