Hans Joachim Marseille ranks among the most-decorated Luftwaffe aces of WWII. His flying skills were so highly regarded that Germans nicknamed him the “Star of Africa.” While stationed in North Africa with Jagdgeschwader 27 (JG 27), Marseille scored 151 “kills” – over 95 percent of his total combat victories.
