They did use the same markings on several other vehicles in their inventory. With everyone using the same vehicles (at that time), you had to come up with some kind of plan to know the good guys from the bad guys. Syria ( I believe) had the R-35 and Israeli also captured and purchased several. No idea how they kept their troops from shooting at their own tanks.
