kpatterson
I haven't posted in a while but here's my 1/32 P-40E. I modeled "Yellow 49" Aleutian Tiger from the 343rd FG 11th FS in the Aleutians 1942. I thought this was different in that there were no blue surrounds on the national insignia. I got the idea from a photo in Squadron's In Action book. -Removed extra frame work to make a 'E' windscreen -Mike Grant instrument decals -Added wiring behind instrument panel -Eduard external photo etch -ID bands and stars were masked and painted -Decals are Barracuda Cals P-40E Warhawks Part I -Added brake lines -Added extra plumbing/wiring to the wheel wells -Enhanced the gunsight by adding an MV lens -Used an MV lens for the landing/taxi light and fuselage formation lights -Made seat belts from Tamiya tape and the buckle hardware from Eduard 1/32 USAAF seatbelt set -Antenna is E-Z line -Modelmaster paint -Pastel weathering Now on to the pictures... Aaronw
Very nice, being a 1/72 builder the cockpit detail possible in these large scale kits just blows me away. I like the weathering too, you did a nice job of making the plane look well work without going overboard.
ghodges
Well, I'll throw out a problem I see Ken.....you don't post your stuff here often enough! That's a SWEET P-40! The extra touches you added really make it sparkle. That is everything I'd ever want in a P-40. Congrats on a spectacular build, and please post more often!
