ISO Alcohol vs. Glosscote

Recommended Posts

:( I made a huge boo boo. Yesterday I sprayed the my ship ( Revell's Hawaiian Pilot ) with Testor's Glosscote in preperation for weathering and decaling. Today I wanted to spray another coat, so I gave the hull a quick, light wipe using 97% ISO alcohol. Bad mistake! :smiley19: I really didn't think rubbing alcohol would damage the glosscote. The paint on the hull isn't damaged, but I have to repair the damage on the glosscote. I am thinking about spraying light coats, hoping this will fix it. Anyone have any suggestions? Also, if the glosscote was given a few days to cure would the alcohol have the same affect? By the way, I use 97% because I also use it to clean my mill and lathe.

Thanks,

Ron W.

Thanks David, but will this repair the damage or do you mean to use Future from now on?
