Wulf
I've got 1 week (about 15 hrs.) to complete a car for a show Would like to do a curbside or slammer. Any ideas on a good kit that fits this criteria And yes Matt, I'm sure you'll answer this one! Thanks, Andy
ewahl
Hi, Andy, AMT has a new series called Showroom Replicas. These are curbside kits with low parts count (40+), screws to mount the chassis pan to the body, and metal axles. I bought my first one--a 2009 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe. I will pick up the 2010 Corvette kit next. Under $20! 1/25 scale. There may be other choices, too. In the 2009 kit, you get plated wheels (4), black vinyl tires (4), black vinyl seats (2), clear parts for all the glass and light lenses, Chassis pan with underside suspension and engine details, 3-piece cabin plus the dashboard, detailed disc brakes (4), main body and front and rear bumper caps, and lots of decals for emblems and instruments. This looks doable in 15 hours. Good luck! The 2010 Corvette kit is a convertible. I just got it into the house, and the detail looks very good. Think of these two kits as enhanced promo models that require you to assemble and paint them. Ed Edited October 30, 2010 by ewahl
MikeH
A bit late but Tamiya's Nissan 350Z is a great kit for that.
