RickC5 Posted September 6, 2010 Report Share Posted September 6, 2010 I believe that the hood actually is hinged so that you can flop it back to rest on the top of the windshield when opened, like your third link shows. That allows really good access to the engine. I'm not even sure there was a support rod. For sure there were no springs.
