The mud is a combination of Mig pigments , dirt from the back yard, and some moss mixed together. I applied it with a small paint brush by hand. I applied it with a small paint brush by hand. Chris nothing like free backyard dirt. I'll have to try this on my next scratchbuild. and being a water well drill rig, it may just be the right thing.
