Looks like a "Bandai" clone, to me Dick. There are many Model companies from Japan, and China, that are not "mainstream" here in the US.

Try contacting a Japanese, or Chinese, model website, that delivers, or has distributors in the US. Not sure which language it is, but it looks like Chinese to me, and send them the image. Most are fluent in English, and are very cordial.

You should get an accurate answer from them. There are 100's of Model kit outfits in the Orient, hard to say, unless you get advice from someone who is quite familiar with them.

Just a suggestion. :smiley2:

Here's a link to a vendor I have had communications with in the past, they should be able to help you out!

I asked some knowledgeable friends. :-)

It's a Ferrari 512 BB in 'sorta' 1/24th from Marui. One of four cars in this series, others are Lambo Jota, Countach and Pantera.

A mini-review:

Marui's BB is one of the better BB kits, but has some flaws that you'd

expect from an old kit. The top engine piece has delicate details, and

the separate carburetors have adequate height, unlike the similarly

designed Nitto/ESCI kit, which has poor engine details. Headlights and

doors are separate, so it might be tricky to properly align those

parts. The engine cover has ventilation louvers, which is one of the

visual differences between 365 and 512, but the shape of the engine

cover itself is of the 365, i.e. the side panel lines run straight

down, and the rear overhang is more sharply tapered than the 512BB's.

Interior is another weak point. Although the dashboard and seats look

okay, and seatbelt hardwares are included, the bulkhead is moved way

too forward to accept two batteries. Luckily, BB's bulkhead is a

combination of flat surfaces, so all you need is a sheet of styrene.

Thanks for the suggestions, the identification, and the history. I am building a website I call "Box Art Archive" and this image was one of those submitted. Now I can properly ID the manufacturer.

Gracias!

Again,

This is why IPMS/USA and all the other IPMS country websites ROCK!!! As long as you have computer access, you can almost always find an answer to a question.
