VonL
- At least one half-finished model from the shelf-of-doom - 1/350 WWII Buckley Destroyer Escort for a US flag/shadow box honoring Dad, who passed away in SEP. The Commander Series resin & PE waterline kit looks good for a first effort at resin ships. Hull plating detail seems a bit overdone, though. Have you looked at the Trumpeter kit with the GMM update set ? Seems pretty nice -- I'm doing a Captain Class Frigate conversion, but it's stalled out right now. robertmelvin
I guess I'm shooting big here, but I'd have to say the Yankee Modelworks 1/350 U.S.S. Massachusetts. This monster looks like the kit to end all kits (at least in ships) and will probably keep me building all through the long winter months. Only one major problem - how to slip that one past the wife! I'm leaning toward pleading temporary insanity. Either that or really save my nickles and dimes and get her something so fantastic for Christmas that she won't notice! Mark Aldrich
Bob, Great idea. However, are you going to have it BUILT by the end of this year? Mark
802chrisg
I don't think I will get it done or even started, but My new Dargon M-7 "Priest" model kit I just got this year is the one I want to build the most. I guess this will be on next years list. Chris

I have opened the boxed and smell of the new plastic was intoxicating. Most likely I will start it the year. The wife is on my back for new cabinet doors and bunch of other stuff . I think you know where I'm going with this one. So fellow Treadhead I will make every effort to get this thing done. robertmelvin
Mark, Built by the end of the year may be a bit optimistic! LOL. But, at least get a good start on it. Hey, never let reality get in the way of your ambitions. Bob
Dreamsof51
My goal is to finish something in my own stash, if I can every stop asking for review models! Something about free stuff..is that bad? Chris
Mark Aldrich
Chris, My brother!!!!! You and me both!!! I have a M1 Super Sherman(M4 Israelified), M4 IDF Dozer, Magach 3(IDF M-48), Nitto Jerry, BA-6, Strella, and Beep Gun-truck all sitting on the back burner because I volunteered to do the Italeri Achilles. Yes, it is bad and someday I will learn to keep my trap shut! This one was my fault because I thought it was going to be an easy build. Something about free stuff..is that bad? Chris No, there is NOTHING bad about that. Plus it makes us build things and take a new approach to it during a review which is a good thing. I think it sharpens one's skills.
