ghodges
Finished my new display case! It took 10yrs to fill the last case of this size with 112 models. I will feel very blessed if the Lord grants me another 10yrs to fill this one! The only thing left is to buy and install the glass shelves...but that will be done as needed after the bottom of the case is filled up. I think I'll christen the case by building a 1/48 Monogram B-29! GIL

ghodges
I made it the same size as the one beside it...6ft long x 2.5ft deep x 6ft tall, and it'll hold 10 30"x20" glass shelves. Here's a pic of the one I just filled up....and it has 112 1/48 and 1/32 scale builds in it....
Mark Deliduka
Wow, that is beautiful! Way to go Gil! I also hope you have the next ten years to fill it up!

johneaton
Nice looking case, Gil. I like mirror backing on mine though it does complicating arranging lighting without the lights reflecting in the mirror..
ghodges
I considered installing a mirrored back, but since it cost me twice what the last one did, decided to cut costs. My smallest case in the office does have a mirrored back. Here's the latest pic of the new case with that 1/48 B-29 I "christened" the case with and the 1/32 B-24D I just finished in it.... johneaton
Doesn't look like that B-24 fit with much room to spare, Gil.
ghodges
No.... not much room to spare at all, but there IS a modicum of "air" on all sides! And, there's room to add a couple of smaller 1/48 models in the space between the tail and the wings if and when that becomes needed as the case fills up. My real hope is that the local military museum will have space for it there eventually, and I'll give it to them. If not, it still has a home with me!
