ghodges
Finished my 3 1/48 Fokker D-VIIIs; 2 are Koster vacuforms and the other is the Eduard kit. The "bumble bee" scheme is actually the only true WWI scheme...the other two are "whiffers" based on internet images, and thus may be bogus. But, I already had a Koster D-VIII in the over-all lozenge finish, so I opted for 3 painted versions. The vac kit details are partially scratchbuilt (cockpit stuff) with spare parts engines, wheels, and props. The Eduard is OOTB. Pics of the construction..... The trio of Razors.... The Eduard kit.... The Koster vac in Udet's markings.... And the Koster kit in an internet scheme (so it must be true!).... I made no attempt to build these to contest standards....they're merely shelf fodder. But, it did allow me to clear 3 from the stash, and since Bil Koster passed away not long ago, it's sort of a tribute to him as well. Comments, critiques, and questions are welcome, as always! Ron Bell
The greatest part of this is that you can't tell the vacuforms from the Eduard kit. A tribute to your skill. I dabble in vacs and know what it takes to wrestle these things together. Outstanding work.
