Ron Bell
Another step on my journey down the road of the old Aurora WW I kits. This is their DH-4. It comes with the four bladed prop instead of two and with the dual rear Lewis guns. That gun mount was disliked by the gunners as being bulky, hard to bring to bear and used up a LOT of ammunition. I added my usual basic interior, but the rest is OOTB.
VonL
Love it - looks great! Have had one of these kits 'seasoning' in the stash for ages (next to the Jenny) and this inspires me to break it out...unless the 1/72 gets done first. How did you do the brass prop-edge guards? Ron Bell
Just hand painted with old Testor's "Brass" paint. Note that the one on the blade at 1-2 o'clock is on the wrong edge! Didn't see that until I uploaded the post. 😮
Nick Filippone
Very nice, Ron. What did you use for the floor of the cockpit. Nick
Mark Deliduka
Another brilliant silk purse! Way to go Ron!
ghodges
Dang nice DH-4, and that scheme brightens an otherwise drab plane. You lost nothing on your ability to rig over the years either! Congrats! GIL
WildBill50
COOL! Great job Ron. What color red is that? A custom mix or what? Bill
sprueguy
Hard to believe how old this kit is, but you made it great. Your motto should be MAGA 'Make Aurora Great Again". 1
Ron Bell
Wild Bill, The red is just Testers enamel Insignia Red out of the bottle. Nick, The cockpit floor is the kit part. Its probably wrong as the floor was more likely just plywood, but a wash and a dry brushing and it at least looks interesting in there.
