This one had the raised decal locators that needed to be sanded off and I added a basic interior. The scheme is of an American 28 of the 213th Aero Squad. based in Florida in 1919-20.

ghodges Posted February 4, 2019 Report Posted February 4, 2019 That close to 60yr old kit is about as classic as they come, and you shined it up spectacularly! I'm with you....I've built no less than 6 biplanes and triplanes over the last 2yrs, most of them the newer releases from Eduard and Rodan. Their detailing is nicer, but Aurora beats them hands down when it comes to logical, easy assembly! Taking your route, with a little creative scratchbuilding and elbow grease, is just as good; as your beautiful result shows! Thanks for sharing! GIL

Ron Bell Posted February 5, 2019 Author Report Posted February 5, 2019 Aurora had several generic bases it included in its WW I biplane kits. They included a separate little medallion with the subjects name to attach to the base. That's the little disc in the photos.
