PeteJ
To understand this build you have know where I started. The kit is a reissue of an Revell kit that has been around since the dark ages. It is the 53 panel drag car. Frankly by todays standard it is a difficult kit to get right in stock format, so I decided to modify the heck out of it. I started with chopping the top. I took 1/4" out of the roof and rescribed all the panel lines. I then tubbed the chassis because I didn't want the wheels outside of the body work. I turned and milled a set of rims from aluminum and Delron(the black centers) and made a set of discs for the back side. I took all the chrome and stripped it. I cut 1/8" out of the front and rear bumpers to make them fit tighter and then rechromed them with Alsa Mirrachrome. The kit headlights were frenched in and I wanted a more traditional look so I turned headlight bezels out of aluminum. I had some left over Red Bull decals so I when with a Red Bull promotional vehicle paint scheme. I did a little BMF work and was done. This was a club group build so I went curbside because of the hood fit. It was fun. Edited September 23, 2016 by PeteJ
