SkyKing
The General Services Administration, previous managers of this specification, have asked SAE Committee G-8 Organic Coatings to take over document management.See here:http://standards.sae.org/amsstd595/http://www.sae.org/servlets/paintChips.do?method=load&contentType=RM&prodGrpCd=B60
ghodges
I didn't see a price listed, but they can sometimes be rather expensive, depending on the source selling them. I have an older FS# fan deck, and have only used it about a half a dozen times over the 20yrs I've had it. But then, I'm not a modeler who frets and worries over EXACT color matches on my models either. It will be more useful to those who DEMAND accuracy in their colors. However, if that's not you....my advice is save your money. GIL
Ralph Nardone
$790 for the chips, $150 for the fan deck--and this is represented as FS595a. I believe the current document is FS595c... Most model colors these days are matched, or there are color conversion charts for those not so matched (Tamiya and Vallejo immediately come to mind)... http://www.paint4models.com/ There are also other places where you can get FS595 information for nothing more than the energy it takes to click the mouse... http://www.federalstandardcolor.com/ http://www.ipmsnymburk.com/tamiya%20mixing/FSTamiya.pdf http://www.fed-std-595.com/FS-595-Paint-Spec.html http://www.e-paint.co.uk/Federal_standard_595_colour_chart.asp While having the chips or fan deck handy at the bench is a nice idea, there are ways to do it cheaper than $150. SkyKing
$790 for the chips, $150 for the fan deck--and this is represented as FS595a. I believe the current document is FS595c... The latest GSA document was FS 595C, but this is now an SAE document, version A. The colors are the same in both.
