Question for an Armor Judge

Recommended Posts

I was sitting in on of the seminars in Columbia, and a qestion was asked that no one in the audience really had an answer for.

Q: If you use a screw up thru the bottom of a base and into a tank securing it firmly to the base, and the judges look underneath and see the screw, is that strike one?

TIA

As far as I know, that's not covered in the Judging Guidelines specifically. However, I've been a judge for 30 years and if I were judging it, I would not consider it part of the model and would not judge it. To me, its part of the base and bases are not judged except in the diorama and sometimes in the figure categories. But that's just me.

I've been an armor judge for several years and no judging team I've been part of has ever dinged an entry because of an anchor screw through the bottom.
