tkirk Posted June 18, 2016 Report Share Posted June 18, 2016 (edited) On June 4th 2016 the Spartanburg Scale Modelers were invited to display built up models for display at the 2nd annual Airport Fair 2016 at the Spartanburg Downtown Airport. This event was sponsored by the City of Spartanburg, Spartanburg Humane Society, Downtown pilots ASS. and the Spartanburg Downtown airport. Our Chapter had 11 members 3 of which were our Juniors modelers, in attendance with 50 models ranging from aircraft, armor ships, automotive, and Sci fi spacecraft. Over 200 people attended the small;; air show and over400 people came into hanger A to talk and look at our display. The center piece was John Savko’s 1/48 PBY with melted wings from sitting in the car to long. The question of the day was “do you have a Tiger tank?” After 18 folks asked we found out people were looking for a Tiger from the movie Fury!
