Ron Bell
This is a resin kit from a German company called Modelltrans. http://www.modelltrans.com They have an interesting assortment of 'stuff' from both wars and in between. This kit had five major parts, left and right track units, main hull, and the two sponsons, then assorted smaller parts like the MGs, 6 pdrs, gun shields, and other small details. You have to make the exhaust pipe from wire. You can pose the hatch on the front cupola open, but it's only a shallow cavity that is irregular in shape, so it would not look very good even with a figure (not provided anyway) in it. However, and there are always howevers, there are two problems you have to address. One is that the rear cupola is the wrong shape and is not located correctly. It should be narrower and to one side so the exhaust can pass by it. As is, you need to re-route the exhaust up over the track and then back over the hull. The second is that the gun sponsons are about 1mm too short, leaving an unsightly gap either on the bottom or top when fitted to the hull. This is kind of suspicious as the parts on the Emhar kit of the Mk IV have the exact same problem in the same proportions and both vehicles use the same sponsons. You can either fill the gaps, which won't look right, or extend the sponsons, which I did. The Mark V* had a six foot section inserted into the hull just behind the side sponsons. This increased it's trench crossing ability and enabled it to carry up to 16 infantrymen. Unfortunately, with all the bucking and heaving as the tank lurched across the cratered battlefield and the exhaust fumes, the infantry usually arrived at the target violently ill and useless So, here it is. The only Mk V* kit I know of.

ghodges
What a behemoth! I bet that scared the Hinies when it first appeared! Looks great Ron, as usual, and your correction work is perfectly blended. By the way, what are those paddles on the top? Signaling devices? Congrats! RONBO
Gil, that is exactly what the paddles are semaphore to signal other tank when to turn without exposure to a lead filled environment. Mr. Bell your tank is very nice. Takom has a Mk IV & a MkV also. Ronbo.
