PeteJ
I know this isn't a big deal to a lot of you, but Tamiya has just announced at the Nuremburg Toy show a Gull wing 300 SL Mercedes. Not a lot of photos out yet, but for we car builders this a big deal. The release of a classic like this is on a par with the 1:32 scale Corsair. I can only hope they have more classics in the mill. Gromit801
Love to see some classic 1/12 race cars. Ferrari Sharknose? Porsche 917K? BRM P156?
Eric Aitala
See http://tamiyablog.com/2015/01/24338-124-mercedes-benz-300sl-gullwing-details-at-nuremberg-toy-fair-2015/ Jim, its unlikely we'll see a 12th scale car kit from Tamiya anytime soon. It's just too expensive to tool up and too limited a market. The best bet is that someone like Model Factory Hiro or Studio 27 would do those kits. Mark Deliduka
That is a beauitiful classic car that deserves to be well represented in plastic. This is excellent news. I'm not a car builder per se, but I do make the occasional exception.
66Foxtrot
You have no idea how ecstatic I was over this news yesterday. This is my favorite car in the world, period (with the SLS AMG a close second)... And the sexiest car ever made. I need at least a dozen.

Schmitz
I have to think a 300 SLR will be next? ---- Never mind. I just googled this and discovered the 300 SLR looks like a 300 SL but is a completely different car. Guess I'll have to hope Peter Jackson runs out of wwi airplanes to kit and develops an interest in 1950s le mans cars :) Edited February 2, 2015 by Schmitz
