Headquartered near Bologna, Italy, Italeri was founded in 1962 by Gian Pietro Parmeggiani and Giuliana Malservisi — two men who decided to turn their boyhood love of airplanes and military vehicles into a business. Italeri released its first scale model plane in 1968 under the company’s original name, Alistamp. The subject was a 1/72 scale Fiat G.55 Italian WWII fighter.
