802chrisg Posted March 18, 2014 Report Share Posted March 18, 2014 (edited) Here is my completed M48 patton tank that was depicted in the movie "PATTON" as a German DAK tank. This build was built for this years AMPS International show for there theme, Tanks On Film. This was a conversion. I used the old Tamiya M48A3 kit and back dated it with a Legend M48 resin conversion. The commanders cupola was the basic hatch type from Sling Shot models. There is a lot of scratch built items on the tank including over 200 bolt heads on the fender supports that I punched out with a punch & die set. The springs on the loaders hatch where replaced with coiled brass wire made by wrapping the wire around a dental tool. The barrel is a LionRoar 88mm Pak 43 meta one. The tracks are AFV workable set.
