Ron Bell
I first got a picture frame of the right size and back painted the glass an appropriate water color. I then put some plastic wrap on the front of the picture frame and glass and poured plaster of paris into it filling it up. When set, I pulled up the plastic wrap and the p of p popped out. I snapped it into several pieces and white glued the straight edge pieces in to the edges and Then broke up the center section. I put a coat to acrylic gel medium down where the "sea" showed through and then set the ship in it. I then placed the broken pieces of plaster of paris around the ship in the gel. When it was all set, I dry brushed a wake in and then covered all the plaster with a coat of Woodland Scenics "Snow". PS. The ship had been 'waterlined".
