I still recall the most sage advice was given in the old Memphis IPMS pub "Leading Edge": When thinning paint: the two should mix easily and readily. If you get beading, clumping, gumminess, separate layers of clear and paint, smoking fumes or an explosion; it's safe to assume that that paint and thinner is NOT compatible! Just last night at the Wounded Warrior Build Night one of the participants was asking about just this subject. The link will become part of our Tip Sheet for the Warriors.
