1/48 FJ-3 Fury

CollectAire resin kit, OOTB. Painted the markings for VF-73 after the kit decals for VF-173 shattered. Rest of the decals are spares box and dry transfers.

Another brilliant masterpiece Gil! Makes me glad I don't build 1/48 scale! I'd never be able to compete against this!

Thanks for the kind words. This one of the better CA kits. No grinding needed at all! :smiley2:

For CollectAire, the later (newer) the molding, the better the quality in general. If you're looking at the parts in the box, the oranger the resin, the older the molding and the more problems you'll likely have. If the resin is more brownish-orange, it's a "middle" release, and it will have some fit problems, but better engineering and detailing overall. The newest kits have an almost creamy beige resin that actually resmbles plastic it's so smooth! Their engineering and detailing is excellent and their fit much better than the older releases. Hope this helps!

Very nice. I have both the 1:48 Hobby Boss and Grand Phoenix Fury kits to get to, one of these days.
