  3. That's really a good one Richard. I worked on the old Demons in 61 and 62 as an Ordnanceman so I have no idea. Its an exhaust port probably from the engine compartment. It is exhaust soot that the plane captains would have to keep cleaned off. Mabye some mech will answer in .

  6. The reason I put this here is I'm building Hueys at present. The 1/72 Italeri,1/48 Revell,1/35 Academy and the monster 1/24 Revell. All with Seawolves decals by Fireball Modelworks.
  7. I just finished reading the most informative, gut wrenching, true accounts of our service men mainly the US Navy and Army. "Fire from the sky" is the history of Helicopter Light Attack Squadron 3 in Vietnam. I could not put this book down. I got it on Amazon. I had a friend who flew with them and the account of his being KIA in 1969 was in one chapter.I did not realize the "Huey" helo was that tough of a bird. The sailors who flew were so dedicated and thier accounts are gut wrenching. If you can get hold of this book and read it you will be impressed believe me.
  8. While pondering a way to replicate the quilting in the 1/24 Revell Huey I am building I took the top of a styrofoam egg carton and grooved some lines with a beveled tool the same as part of the interior that was already quilted and it turned out great, Then I used some of the styrofoam to make new seat coushions,The styrofoam egg carton is only about 1/8 inch thick and has a lot of possaibilities.
  9. Are there any 1/24 accessory kits that would have a M2.50 caliber machine gun and M60 machine gun? I need for a 1/24 scale Helo I am building. Thanks
  10. I picked up my first Touch n Flow kit from Hooby Lobby last week. I am impressed. Works real well and really helps to make a cleaner seam. You can get to hard to reach areas also. I really like it and wish I had got one earlier on.
  11. It is a tedious application. I appreciate the suggestions. It just gives me a little more confidence when I can hear a few others on a subject.
  12. Any tutorials or suggestions for installing photo etch wing fences.
  13. 1/48 A3D Skywarrior.1/8 scale Honda XR 650R.
  14. How can I achieve authentic dents and wrinkles in A/C surfaces?
  15. Love the paint job and the wheels are great.
  16. You could say the water truck put down to much water. Looks good to me.
  17. Learned alot from this thread, thanks to all.
  18. It seems to me that panel lines in 1/72 would be practically invisible on a stand off model. I think most panel lines are over accentuated.
  19. Household bleach. Let soak and rinse. Dissolves crome plate from plastic.
  20. The gel has a longer set up time so you can have the extra time to position a part. Some of the cheaper SG's are not really a bargin.
