  1. Some nice pics to help you out here. http://www.1stfighter.org/photos/P80inItaly.html
  2. I have only flown with models once, to Phoenix in 2004. I used a clear Rubbermaid box that fit under the seat and foam cushioning to protect the kits. I also approached the TSA guy with a notice of what I was taking and it seemed he was aware of the show (other modelers passing through perhaps). I had two figure kits and a Sci fi vehicle, all attached to their bases and had no problems there or back. Here is another alternative. While not necessarily based on flying, some of it looks helpful. http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/tnt1...levy/tnt078.htm
  3. Here is a link. May Gallery Love the What If dio.
  4. Local show went pretty good. Vendor's area lacking as always. Heard a little over 400 models on the tables. http://picasaweb.google.com/modelphil/SLCX#
  5. And the Awards Ceremony is up if you dare. The Whiffies
  6. Nice. The Awards Ceremony is scheduled to start at 7pm MST tonight if I can get out of work on time.

  8. Paul, It has been fun watching these builds over at uamf
  9. Mark, The contest is run a little different than your average show as you don't enter per se. If you post something in the forum during the year, it may get put in the Sway thread. Nominations are gathered from the sway thread and voted on to get the top 5 in each category. So, if you build it and post it, you have a chance. There are several good ship whiffs going on right now including flying versions, space versions and even battleships on skis. Nothing is out of reach when you say What If.
  10. Looking forward to the Lightning. The P-38 is one of my favorites from WWII. Got to see Glacier Girl up close a couple times and even got to see one fly during the 07 Nats.
  11. Man, you are like a machine. The What If Modelers are also contemplating a year of the Tiger themed GB, only, it would be What If Tiger Meet aircraft. I am hoping that one goes through.
  12. Nice looking build Dave. The 40 always looks good in Flying Tigers markings.
  13. Good news Dennis. By the way, have we advertised the fact at other forums?
  14. I like this decision as long as non members can't see all the bickering that goes on in the Business section.
  15. You guys ought to come over and post them up. Will get you in competition for the 2010 version. The What If SIG is also planning 2-4 tables at the Nats this year so make sure and stop on by and say hi.
  16. Mark, Not sure. Want to do one of the Black Buck aircraft from the Falklands but haven't decided which one. Also, may decide to save up for some of the parts from Two Mikes. Then there is the "where will I put it" question. That may have to wait till my oldest moves back out or one of his younger siblings beats him to it.
  17. All, This is the second year that I have run The Whiffies over at Whatifmodeler. Thought I would post up the threads so you could take a look before the winners are announced. http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/board,72.0.html
  18. You just gotta read the captions "The Heath box has a couple of Star Trek Deep Space Nine Runabouts in it."
  19. Nice job. I picked this one up along with the Rommel's Rod and Tijuana Taxi. Built the RR and Dragon's Wagen back in my early teens and lost them in a move (AF brat). Been after them for the last 20 years and was very happy to get them rereleased. The kits are almost exactly as original but the dragon in this kit used to only be two parts, left and right side with legs attached. There is also some change in a chicken in the Taxi. Even though I don't normally do cars, think these will get the detail treatment along with the S'cool Bus in the stash.
  20. And some close ups of the kits. 72nd WWII aircraft 72nd armor and boats 72nd large craft and Sci Fi. The Heath box has a couple of Runabouts in it and the Heller box is an Nordatlas. More 72nd WWII, my couple 48th scale kits and a few 35th vehicles. 72nd modern and the rest of the 72nd modern, more Sci-Fi and a few autos.
  21. Thought I had posted these before but don't see them so here goes: Workbench is currently the kitchen table with the back deck as the spray booth (rattle cans only at this time). These were taken a year ago. Since then I have moved to the other side of the table by the wall with a few of my to do kits close by. Here is my old bench which was taken back when my oldest moved back it. Some but not all of the book collection. A blurry shot of the overall stash. There has been some changes as I have sold a few and bought a few and now there is another set of shelves in front and blocking easy access as my wife now works from home in front of the kits.
  22. Anthony, Don't know of any kits but they just released a bunch of Lego Toy Story items. My oldest bought Buzz and Zurg, haven't seen a Woody yet.
  23. Got my attention. I love the vehicles from the games but not the prices. Do have an Eldar Grav tank to do sometime.
  24. Love the dio. I am pretty sure these guys wait until we shovel before they hit the neighborhoods.
  25. Even though it is not in my scale, I may have to get one.
