  1. This is my X-15 from Special Hobby, 48th scale (resin out the wahzoo). I didn't like the looks of this kit's profile, so I added a scale 5 inches to the nose, just forward of the nose wheel well. As a matter of fact, the forward bulk head of the wheel well is the two (2) 0.030 sheet plastic. Re-contoured the nose and now it looks like the sleek aircraft really is. Did I mention this kit has alot of resin? Used kit decals for the most part. The yellow seemed too light but when put down of the black paint, it looked just about right. The canopy and aux tanks are removable. Comments. Bo Roberts
  2. I'll play. I like the older Sci Fics like Forbidden Plant, with Robbie the Robot!! A real close runner up is The War of the Worlds made in the 1950's. And, oh, the Blob!! Bo Roberts
  3. This kit came out last year, IIRC. They reworked the Mk.V kit, I think. The vertical stab is mis-shaped but a little card stock fixes that. If you're not into the minor differences of Spitfires, and I'm NOT, it's not correct right from the box. The pros pointed all these out to me AFTER I completed the model. For example, Airfix molded the flaps so they could be dropped. I did and found out that the flaps were NEVER left in the down position on the ground. That brace behind the headrest should not be there for a Mk.I. (But you can make a Mk.II as well. The instructions don't tell ya to remove it.) The tool in the entrance door shouldn't be there, either. I thought it was kinda fun build, but if and when I do another, I'll start with the Tamiya kit!! Bo Roberts
  4. I'm NOT a big Sci-Fi fan, but....... the new Snap kit form Pegasus of the Martian War Machine from the 1950's movie, War of the Worlds, just gotta be in my collection!! Is LED lighting difficult?? Bo Roberts
  5. I like it!! I too built this kit. Kinda fun build to see how much Airfix put into it. Did u reshape the vertical stab? The Mk. II might be the better version of the two, huh? Bo Roberts
