  1. Congrats! Excellent result on a true short run kit. Thanks for posting! GIL
  2. I'll "DITTO" Clare's post! Any thoughts on how the Trumpy Mig-15 compares to Tamiya one? That's a good looking Faggot! (Maybe that's the first time I've said that in public.......and maybe not!) GIL
  3. EXCELLENT! Congrats Jay! You were obviously a LOT closer to success than you thought when you told us about this at the planning committee meeting. It's nice to know we in IPMSFC have a local source for all our own little projects..... I'm smiling WITH you bud! GIL
  4. Welcome Ron. Glad to have you here. Any idea how many models to the gallon you get on your travel trailer trips? You've come to the right place to share your enthusiasm for the hobby! Here's wishing you smooth roads and paint jobs! Cheers! GIL
  5. It's all in knowing what angles to take the pics from and where NOT to shoot the close-ups! GIL

Duane buddy! Good to see ya here with the rest of us maniacs! Stay warm up there! GIL
  7. Great looking classics! I'm sure they'll be greatly admired and appreciated in Telford! Thanks for sharing. GIL
  8. Got 'er as done as it will be......this is the 1/32 resin CollectAire T-28C Trojan. There are more touch-ups on this model than on a Playboy centerfold! But, it's finally done after 5mos of construction. You can follow the build from week one in the 1/32 T-28C topic below. Comments, questions, and critiques are welcome. See y'all in Warner Robins! GIL
  9. I know it's available, but supposedly only by mail order. Perhaps someone who actually uses it can post the sizes needed and a link to its source. I know I'm interested! GIL
  10. Bear with you?? Heck, I have an on-line build here dating from last MAY!! I think ya got PLENTY of time.....don't worry about us! Get it right and make yourself happy in the process. I know I'm enjoying your pics! GIL
  11. Someone posted a link to Vista Dental supplies and I went there and found THESE! These are the Appli-Vac 3/4" Bendable Needle Tips (without the points), and the above bags are from the #315510 "Combo Kit". It costs $19.00 (plus postage). It gives you 6 different guages (16,18,19,20,22,&25) with 20/bag, for 120 total. As you can see, several of the sizes can be "telescoped" together. These should be great for gun barrels, cannon barrels, and actuators! I cut them to the length needed using an abrasive wheel in a motor-tool (use eye protection!). I've heard of some people saying they can also be cut by scoring around the tubing with a new #11 blade and then snapping it off (but I haven't tried that myself). The link to their page is: http://www.vista-dental.com/products/query.cfm?id2=Appli-Vac Since it says they're "bendable", it might be possible to curve them without kinking, which might make them even more useful. They sold to me over the phone (as a hobbyist) with NO problem, and I didn't have to order more than the one Combo Pack. If you know what guage size you need, then you can also order them by that size. Hope this helps some folks! Cheers! GIL
  12. Markings are on! Prop is also painted. The shark mouth should probably be more yellow in its background, but hey, ya gotta go with the markings provided as there aren't any "aftermarket" T-28 Trojan sheets in 1/32! I'll be putting the final wash on tomorrow. Cheers! GIL
  13. F's rule! I like the scheme because it shows how they simply adapted the desert scheme to a later environment. Are those the kit markings? Thanks for posting! Gil

Nice Spooky! You're not the first one to be scared by old Monogram decals. Sounds like the ones that date from the '80s, when their instructions metioned that the adhesive would turn white before clearing up. Some of their old decals could NOT be used with the regular gloss-set-decal-solvent-gloss system. The old decals seemed impervious to everything! Yours looks great. It actually took me 3-4secs to find the model in that long shot on the yard! Thanks for sharing! GIL
  15. Thanks Mike, but y'all never saw the close-up pics I deleted as fast as I could! GIL
  16. Reminds me of a MnT we had for our club. The kits used were old Airfix Zeros, Mustangs, and Bf-109Gs. One kid put his wings on backwards, resulting in a "swept wing" 109....looked better to me! GIL

Ken (you amatuer); you need to start keeping alchohol at home like me! That way you don't have to go anywhere to drown out the inadaquencies.... Heck, in my case it doesn't even hurt my modeling skills much! GIL
  18. Very realistic Duke! I especially like how the walls are much dirtier alnog the bottom halves. Sure, it's logical, but I don't think I'd have thunk of it! GIL
  19. That Snowbirds scheme is quite striking. I was gonna say "cute" 'cause it's such an itty-bitty model, but no, it's a cool scheme! The 102 is evrything you could want in a "Duece"! I see you did all of the dirty work, painting and exposing the weapons. I took the easy way out and closed mine up! As for the Zero....there's something not right about it.......but I can't quite put my finger on it..... Congrats! And thanks for sharing! GIL
  20. Got some plumbing into the gear wells. Used 2 sizes of black wire and some solder. The "brackets" are Squadron Skin (the original adhesive backed foil) cut into strips and stuck in place. I used the same technique to add the brakelines to the main gear (no pics). Canopy is glued on and ready to be sanded and faired in. It still needs to be painted black. The finish line is in sight! Hopefully one more week will "get 'er done"! Cheers! GIL

Ok, now yer just showin' off! AND I DON'T BLAME YA! Dang, those are some SWEET models. Thanks for reminding me of how you've been kickin' my but here in R-11 for the last few years..... I'm going to vote for the P-36 as one of my favorites. Whether it's the old AMT or the Hobbycrap kit, it ain't supposed to look that nice! Thanks for letting us have a glimpse of your prize collection! GIL
  22. OOO OOOO OOOO, Mr. Kottah, Mr. Kottah..... How about posting more pics of the F-8 Greg? That looks SWEET! GIL
  23. Love that F-102! That's a very pretty scheme. Do you plan to use the Waterloo farmhouse in a Waterloo setting, or do you have other dio plans in mind? GIL
  24. Thanks for the kind words guys! One reason this one was on the to-do list was "nostalgia". I first built it back in 1975 using the venerable Monogram P-38 kit. I brush painted it with Humbrol OD/Neutral gray, while the parts were STILL ON THE TREES! This was before I knew about sanding seams....Cheers! GIL
  25. Nice Rat! I especially like the way your fuselage stripe came out and the weathering on the botom. Looks like you repostioned the elevators...did you do anything else? Looks great! Thanks for sharing! GIL
