  1. As retirement neared our relocation became the hottest topic at the dinner table. Since I was having to pretend to care where we ended up I sold my vote to my wife for gauranteed dibs on the largest non-master bedroom in whatever house we ended up in. As I sit here looking out my beautiful picture window at a snowy Mt. Lassen and by swiveling my chair I can access, computer - building area - spray booth - photo booth - multiple storage areas, I can state without reservation that it was the best deal I ever made! Mike
  2. Very nice! Thanks for the great info and images. Mike
  3. I've never had any problem with any residual Future after cleaning up with Windex. The problem with spraying Future is that it is self leveling and you can easily defeat that when spraying if your distance and flow are not just right. From what I've read more and more modelers are just brushing it on and letting it do it's thing. IMHO never cut Future with anything unless you are going for a special effect. It is however easily changed to a flat acrylic. I use a few drops of Tamiya flat. As I recall Chris Mobley once wrote that he uses a 70/30 Future/flat mix. You'll never see me challenging his results! Mike
  4. Looks great! Sometimes we forget how important a "just for fun" build can be. Mike
  5. Very nice! I might have to move my Mogami a little closer to the top of the build pile. Mike
  6. A decent quick check can be done by gently moving your thumbnail back and forth over the seam. If you can't find the seam you know you're well on your way. . . Mike
  7. Nice start. Looking forward to seeing more. Mike
  8. Tough, tough game to host. Tough enough films so that our couple of super stars can't just pick them off but enough clues so that the rest of us have a "chance" or at least enough to make a guess or two. A nearly impossible task. . . Mike
  9. Looks good. I grabbed the #7 in the series the other day. (P-51) No such thing as to much fun in our hobby. Mike
  10. Very very nice! Thanks for sharing the images. Mike
  11. It's certainly nothing personal but if I have no idea, what can I say. . . And Dave M, the most prolific guesser from the last round is working full time at life these days. . . Mike
  12. Great stuff! Thanks again for all the great images. Mike
  13. Quite an amazing "fleet" of vehicles you've got going there! Thanks for all the great images. Mike
  14. What an amazing use of available technology to share this information! Great job, gentlemen. Mike
  15. Thanks, Jim. I paid $275 and saw a couple of test prints done before it was packed for shipping. If it survived the trip I should be okay. I have Corel Draw X3 but it is a tough one to learn. I'm still hard at it. If I can finally make some quality decals it will be well worth the money and effort. Thanks again for the great info Mike
  16. Seems like another excellent representation in this scale. Well done. Mike
  17. Michael - Great info, Just what I was looking for. Thank you Mike
  18. As Sherlock would have said, "You've been a big help, Dr. Watson." Mike
  19. I'm looking for anybody that's got a little ALPS experience to help me avoid the many pitfalls that I'm sure await me. . . Mike
