Trumpeter made a nice kit in 1/35, and Jaguar made one in resin a few years ago. I received some Russian magazines back in the late 70's early 80's that had plans and an article about the RF8 Aerosan. I did a scratch-build of the vehicle back then that is long gone from my display case. If I remember correctly I did an article with plan drawings back then for what was then called the IPMS Quarterly. Age does not make for good memory! I do want to build the Trumpeter kit now after seeing yours.

That is great I have a 1/35 kit so now I need to build it.

Great work. I like the red stripes on the RF-8 sleds. I have never seen that before, was it based on a photo?

Nice detail and great subject. Nice to watch this as it grows.

Excellent piece. I like the scenery and base as well.

Thank you for the kind comments. One thing I like about the shows is finding something unusual like this for such a low price. I guess it proves the old adage one mans trash is an others treasure. -
Looks great and those tracks are mind numbing. Still working on some.

I built this after picking up a kit at the Seattle IPMS show last year. I built it right out of the box just for fun. Sometimes it is good to just put something together and paint it, to remind me why I enjoy this hobby so much.

Fun is needed and it came out looking good too.

I like the way it turned out.

Thank you again. That is an amazing site, and certainly helps fill a need. Rick

Thank you for your input. It seems that forums are the only answer. I miss the Campaigns and Historical Miniatures. Was hoping for something along that format.

Just curious as to, are there any figure painting magazines still in print? I just realized I should add the word historical. Amazing Figure Modeler is amazing but I prefer more of the 54mm to 150mm historical type figures.

I built this scene using the Allan 1/35 Katyusha kit and added the Eduard photo etch set. I modified it to appear as if the drivers front tire was off. The figures are a combination of spare parts from my extra parts bin. The ground work was done with celluclay. The figures are painted in oils, the Katyusha in Tamiya paints weathered in oils.

Glad you finished it, looks great.

Thank you Greg for the help. Merry Christmas!

I do not usually build aircraft models but there are three I would really like to build on my bucket list. I was wondering which would be the best suggestions for 1/72 kits of the following: P61A Black Widow P38J Lightning Avia B534 Any help would be greatly appreciated as far as ease of building yet adequate details for out of the box building

Thanks Gil. Yes the forest was painted on over Tamiya paint ,airbrushed on, using vallejo acrylics and a #0 brush. If you google "Fantasque Char B1" you can find the whole story of the experimental paint. It had been brush painted on by a French artist using a textured paint. It was a failure for; in use it was quickly covered in dirt and grime and achieved nothing. Either way it sure was an interesting scheme.

I built the Tamiya Char B1 out of the box and it was one of the easiest kits I have ever built especially for the amount of detail. I decided to paint it in the the experimental camouflage of Fantasque and used Echelon decals for the name and number markings. I think this has been the most fun build I have done in a long time actually regretted the finishing because wanted it to last longer. This is a rare feeling for me usually thank God that is over feeling.
