  1. My vote goes to the guys and gals of San Marcos for all their hard work this year!
  2. Our website complete and as soon as we get the word form HQ (IPMS/USA) we'll publish and launch. We estimate that will be on or around July 15th. Hotel reservations will be able to be made as soon as the site is launched. Viva Las Vegas! πŸ™‚ Thanks Bob
  3. For those looking for general information on 2021 Nats please go to our website at www.ipmslv.org , you'll see a link under 'more' which will take you to our landing page. Our 2021 Nats website is complete and as soon as we get the OK from IPMS/USA we'll publish and activate it. Hotel reservations will not be available until later in the year. Thanks, Bob
  4. Sad news. We in Las Vegas know first hand how much effort and hard work you and your team have put into this. Please convey our appreciation to your team for everything they put into this endeavor. Best Regards to all. Bob
  5. Hi All, Las Vegas is entering Phase 3 of our reopening. Most casinos and resort are open again and activity on The Strip is about 50% of normal. I was down there on Saturday and was pleased to see all the cars and people about again. I spoke to The Rio where we are holding the 2021 Nats and they too are open and don't expect any problems moving forward. In fact they reported that they are overwhelmed with new and re-bookings for 2021 and 2022. They are very excited to be hosting IPMS USA in 21' and everything is moving forward on schedule. Bob

  7. Really nice build. I love that goofy bird!
  8. Outstanding job. I'm working on the 1/48 P-38 Hasagawa kit now. No doubt the Tamiya kit is better, but the Hasagawa kit only cost me $12.50 back 1992! πŸ™‚
  9. We in Las Vegas are all saddened by the recent turn of events and how it may impact our IPMS brothers and sisters in San Marcos. Naturally, the National Convention Committee and the boys in San Marcos can count on our support in every possible. Let’s continue to hope that the situation improves in the next few weeks resulting in the 20’ Nats going off without a hitch.
  10. Anyone have a left wing root (upper and lower) parts for the old Revell 1/32 Wildcat they would like to sell? An old built-up model would work as well. I'll pay shipping to Las Vegas as well. Thanks
  11. Nice work. Love the diorama concept. I just finished one too, not sure what to do with it yet. Your diorama inspired me to mount it.
  12. You're invited to come and explore our new website at www.ipmslv.com and learn more about the upcoming Best of the West Model Show on April 25th, 2020 as well as some early news about the 2021 National Convention hosted by IPMS Las Vegas. The Best of the West has grown to be one of the largest and best attended model shows in our entire Region-8 area, filing over 18,000 square feet of of convention space with models and vendors. We urge you to take your next mini-vacation in Las Vegas next April and stop by and enjoy the show. Also be sure to visit our booth at the 2020 National Convention in San Marcos and see what we have in store for you the following year. Thanks BOTW 2020 Flyer Front.pdf
  13. We manged to secure the RIO without a banquet requirement, just a flat rate for the convention space. If anyone is looking to book a large-scale banquet or convention, I highly recommend Valarie Roach at HPN Global. She receives a lot of the credit for the putting together our deal.
  14. Mike Moore How many square feet was the room you held the banquet in? I thought it was perfect! Thanks Bob L
  15. I thank everyone for their support of IPMS Las Vegas and our bid to host the 2021 National Convention in Las Vegas. We look forward to working with many of you to make our show a fantastic success. After Chattenooga show this past week, its going to be hard act to follow. Congrats to those Nooga guys!
  16. Thanks James, we'll do our best to make that happen.
  17. Thanks for the kind words Von. We have a tremendous amount of respect for Omaha and the wonderful shows they host. We believe we can offer IPMS and our members something new and exciting with our proposal. As for who gets selected first or at all, our commitment to this organization and our hobby is our main priority. What is best for IPMS, is best for us.
  18. Hi Chris, welcome aboard. Seeing that you live in Las Vegas allow me to extend to an invitation to attend one of our monthly meetings which are held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at the Findlay Chevy Community room. You'll meet a lot of modelers who share the same interests as you, from beginner to Master level. Please look us at www.ipmslv.org and stop by sometime and see us. Bob
  19. Thank You Roktman, we feel we have designed an event to precisely achieve that very goal.
  20. To be clear, IPMS Las Vegas will be bidding for 2021. We are not the same Las Vegas club that made a bid presentation in Phoenix in 2018.

  22. To Answer my Friend Mark Deliduka's question, the question is NO! We (Las Vegas IPMS) did NOT make a bid presentation at the 2018 Nationals in Phoenix, that was Red Flag Scale Modelers also from Las Vegas. As you know we host the Best of West Model-Con each year and feel Las Vegas would make a great city for a National Convention. Our National Committee Team will be traveling to Chattanooga to make our bid presentation and we feel we have put together a fantastic program that would thrill convention attendees from around the country and beyond. Thanks, Bob
