  1. Here is an article that Phil Brandt wrote on his F-94C. http://hyperscale.com/features/2002/f94cpb_1.htm He says,"True Details T-33 seats were used because they're very close to those of the F-94C and because they've got nicely molded seat belt assemblies." At the time, I believe Lockheed and others were making their own seats. These might not be so deadly reproduced for the modeling aftermarket so maybe F-80 or T-33 seat are "close enough." John
  2. I'll go you one better. I've been, ever so slowly scanning them, issue by issue into PDFs. David, Don't scan any from the last 6 years. No need. I can send you PDFs.
  3. Hey! Those are collector's items that should be framed or maybe encased in Lucite!
  4. He's got also resin stowage bins for the early IDF Shermans. http://www.sabingamartin.com/index.html
  5. Looks nice Richard. What's the scale and make?
  6. I can't speak for the website but you might just try emailing MJ Kinney <mj@ipmsusa.org> about the membership. She should be able to set you up, pronto.
  7. Just want to let you all know that the "never-quite-finished" Barracuda Studios P-51D parts are finally for sale. http://barracudacals.com/index.php John (who has some association with Barracuda Studios) (This is the most appropriate forum that I have permission to post in - if this message needs to be moved, please do so)
  8. Would this be a good thing? The last item I got from him would have gone straight into the garbage if I was not going to review it for the Journal. This is not hyperbole as not a single piece was usable. This was after two months of begging him to ship it.
  9. No offence inteneded to Daniel or anyone who like that style, but the Spanish style of painting always makes me thin that the subject has been sitting at the bottom of a boggy lake for 20 years. While he is certianly a skilled modeler, this is weathering for weathering's sake. If he would dial it back to something more realstic, they'd all be winners.
  10. Steve, You're in luck. THere are TWO great modeling clubs near you. As Randy mentioned the Hornets meet at the community center in Fremont but there is a much larger club a couple miles south. The Silicon Valley Scale Modelers meet in Milpitas. http://svsm.org/ The Venn diagram of the two cubs has a lot of overlap. Feel free to join both. John
  11. Rats. No Mac version. Oh well, you get used to that after a while. After making my own half baked data base some time ago, I found that keeping it up to date was a hobby of its own - one that helped me do even less model building. I also learned that if I need a database to keep track of my models, maybe I have a few too many.
  12. I'm going to go with Star Wars episodes 1, 2, 3 and 6. The prequels are famously bad but, in spite of liking it when it came out, Return of the Jedi is nearly unwatchable for me nowadays. A hokey retread of the first movie and a clear indication that from now on the movies would be promotional material for toys and other merchandise. Cynical, John
  13. Lots of Pima photos here. They are my aircraft type rather than by museum. http://svsm.org/gallery/walkarounds John
  14. $149 is not so crazy considering that many will pay $30 for a resin cockpit set. Hand made kits are a lot of work.
  15. Or you could scratch build one like Dan Thompson did in the May/June issue of the Journal! http://www.ipmsusa.org/Journal_Covers/InLatestJournal_23-3.htm
  16. Welcome John. Always nice to have another John. I'll see you at the secret John-Meeting that none of these guys know about. Shhhhhhh... John (giving secret handshake)
  17. I would shoot RAW if my little pocket camera would support it and if any of my photos actually deserved to be RAW. Thousands of 40 meg images will start to add up. The Adobe RAW dialog is pretty awesome but you can use it on your jpgs too. John
  18. I think the only reason I noticed it was because I read about it in another post.
  19. I too am looking forward to a kit of this. I would think Tamiya would handle this since they are the Japanese 1/35 armor manufacturer. As with anything Tamiya, we wont know about it until it's about to hit the store shelves.
  20. After two months of waiting I just received an order from him and I think it's going in the garbage. At best it's a tepmalte to scratchbuild my own.
  21. I have a set of modern Russian tankers and they are pretty amazing. John
  22. I was driving that car at the time of my prom. My memories of it are quite different than the reality, I'm sure.
