  1. From our lips to their ears......fingers crossed for some obscure armor offerings.
  2. President Dick Christ suggested the creation of this new forum with the thought that it might just be a great way to communicate with kit makers about the list of kits we're itchin' to see mass produced. Given that more than a few IPMS/USA forum readers are affiliated with kit manufacturers, maybe, just maybe, our wish lists may find their way into the right hands. The forum is called "I wish there was a kit of..." and can be found under the "Model Building of All Kinds" section of the discussion forum. Feel free to add your wish list, who knows, your wish might just be granted!
  3. Richard, Posting .exe files here gives me heartburn. Too many viruses piggyback on that file type. If you have photos, extract them from your .exe file as jpegs and then post them here. Other than that request, please send your product announcements to Steve as requested. Thanks! dt
  4. Scratchbuilt strips cut from a sheet of .005 brass and soldered together. I couldn't see spending $16 or more for the detail set...
  5. Here's a selection of shots from my bench. I'm adding a lot of additional detail to the M51 despite the fact that this is a nice kit. Grab handles and brush guards were "must change" items. Two tips, paint the road wheels, THEN attach them. Don't glue together the tracks until you have them on the model. You'll never get them past the upper guide wheels.
  6. Figures...just after I finished construction of my M51....still, I'll be looking to snag a copy at Nats.
  7. Welcome Jeff! I have a closet filled with just about everything....except the time to build!
  8. If you are connected to the Twitter universe, follow us on @ipmsusa We'll keep you updated with the latest news and other cool stuff on your phone and other mobile devices.
  9. VonL: And I'm not a big fan of the warning status bar either. Unfortunately, it's the only tool we have to give members a reminder that they've gotten out of line and have violated forum rules in some way. As for the ROE you mention, we have 'em. They can be found by clicking on the forum rules link found at the top of every forum page. Remember, it's only viewable by you and the forum moderation staff. Hope this explains things for you...
  10. We seem to have problems whenever a new version of Firefox or Internet Explorer is released....be aware. be prepared.
  11. Congrats on having the longest member workbench thread of 2011!
  12. Welcome Bob, You might want to post your question in the armor forum also...
  13. Bet that looked great going around the Christmas tree! Way to go, Mark! d
  14. Just wanted everyone to know about the new Sweet Deals forum I created in the IPMS/USA members-only section of the forum. This forum has been set up for IPMS/USA members to share information about deals and buying opportunities that will save fellow modelers a substantial amount of bucks. Feel free to post URLS from websites or give addresses for brick and mortar stores (because I definitely want to encourage local members to let us in on deals from their local hobby shop). This forum will be self-moderated in that any complaints about the validity of the "deal" should be sorted out between the poster in the body of the thread containing the info. All unresolved complaints should be bumped up to the forum mods (me or Rusty White) for resolution. Posts older than 30 days will be deleted to avoid confusion. Rusty and I will moderate this forum and hope it'll give members yet another benefit to membership. The old vendors forum has been removed and any info about new products should be directed to Dave Morrissette and Steve Collins, moderators of the Coming Attractions forum in the general membership area. Thanks, I hope you enjoy this new forum. Dennis
  15. On John's suggestion, I've created a new Miscellaneous category. Moving this thread over there now....
  16. How much of the book is in Japanese?
  17. I use both Photomatix and HDR Express. I like HDR Express the best.
  18. I've added some new emoticons to the mix for those of you have been pestering me about adding some military emoticons for forum use. I know I need to find some jets/airplanes to add to this list. If you have a source for free emoticons that fit the bill, please send me a PM or email and I'll see what I can do to add them! Enjoy! :m1helmet: :drillsergeant: :Smile_sceptic: :helo_army17: :marine8point: :army7: :army8: :eagleglobeanchor: :Smile-tongue:
  19. First VP Steve Collins has asked that I create a new forum for him to use to announce the latest news from hobby manufacturers. That new forum is called "coming attractions" and can be found in the general modeling area of the forums. Only Steve and Dave Morrissette will be able to post new items to the forum but all members will be able to comment and ask questions. That forum goes online 10/31/2011.
  20. Thanks for sharing the link, Mark! I added it to my Amazon wishlist.
  21. Rob, You posted in the right place! Welcome to the forum. dt
  22. As a fellow member of the "I've flown in a B-17" club, it was incredibly noisy, wasn't it? I couldn't get over how much the plane vibrated till the pilots got the engines warmed up and at flying revs....still, well worth the money for an experience of a lifetime!
