  1. I just finished looking at missile silos that folks had bought and had for sale. Seeing these photos makes me appreciate the maintainence required to keep these things operational.
  2. The theme for September will be "Beneath the Waves". Anything used below the ocean's surface. Submarines, U-Boats, divers, torpedoes, submersibles, anything goes. Any scale, any era. Remember to hold your posts until September 1st.
  3. Here ya go. Grandpas cabinets are excellent quality and I am a happy customer. http://www.grandpascabinets.com/
  4. Incredile paint job. I wish you would have placed something close by for scale.
  5. The Desert Wars Any subject from any of the wars fought in the African or Middle east wars. Any era. Remember to hold your submissions until the 1st.
  6. What's this with cats and models????? I have heard LOTS of horror stories involving cats and models (mostly ships for some reason).
  7. Looks like Testor modified thier "wood" color. It looks much better than it used to. I'll have to pick some up.
  8. Very nice Ron. She's an oldie, but a goodie! Really clean work on the photo etch.
  9. Your B-70 looks great. IMHO, the B-70 is the most beautiful plane ever to fly. I have the old Rare Planes vac formed B-70. I built one of these before and really builds into a nice model. I just wish I had all the available stuff that's out there now when I built mine. I had to locate enough exahst nozzells for all those engines. What a pain. I now have the SAC landing gear and I'll be purchasing one of the injected molded B-70s to rob parts from for my next build. I actually drew all the panel lines on my model and it was in a past issue of Fine Scale Modeler.
  10. The Phalanx mounted is a new laser equipped unit for longer range. The gun is used as a last line of defence in the event the laser misses. I found a HEMTT kit on eBay for a good price. Thanks to all for the help.
  11. Chris, My interest in the CIWS is well known to my friend that sent this. Here is the URL. http://usarmy.vo.llnwd.net/e2/-images/2010/10/20/89213/army.mil-89213-2010-10-21-071021.jpg
  12. Is this kit still in production?
  13. Can someone positively ID this vehicle. Does anyone know if there is a kit availble of this (less the CIWS) in any scale? Could the Dragon Wagon kit be converted to this? Any help would be much appreciated.
  14. Micro Mark sells a do-it-yourself photo etch kit. I design and sell photo etch as kits and for my model kits. Unfortunately photo etch is pretty expensive, so you may not find many folks willing to give up their stash of extra parts for free. Just my opinion.
  15. Yes, I know what steampunk is. Where did you get the figure? What scale is this?
  16. Outstanding model sir! Well done. I'll bet the paint scheme was "fun".
  17. If you're interested, check out this CD http://www.flagshipm...&products_id=79 It's a CD I produce discussing my favorite modeling tools. I cover over 40 tools and I include everything you're asking for including URLs to purchase the tools.
  18. Welcome to the forum! I think you'll find a wealth of information here from our group. If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I am sure someone will help you out. As moderator, just sort of lurk in the background. So have a good time. There is no such thing as too many ship guys on the forum.
  19. Right now I just don't know. Remember, the web site is open 24/7. :D http://www.flagshipmodels.com/zencart/
  20. I love this. Please post more pics as you go.
  21. At the end of your posts, please zoom back so we can see everything in context.
  22. Do you remember that the studio actually took some footage from the Nats that year for the movie? Unfortunately, from what I have been told, it all ended up on the editing room floor. =((
  23. A suggestion if you have yet to think of it. Don't cha hate it when you get suggestions and you aren't done yet? Anyway, FWIW, be sure to flatten the tires just a bit to give "weight" to the vehicle. Looks great so far. I'm working on my first diorama too.
