  13. As Both Bill Thaw and myself are Pittsburgh natives, I decided on one of his aircraft. For those not familiar with Mr Thaw he was one of the founding members of the Lafayette Escadrille. This is the 1/48 Eduard Nieuport. Kit markings for National Insignias and Thaws Markings which was the "T" and the Indian Head was provided by fellow Modeler Tim Swisher (Local Thaw expert) Used Alclad High Speed Silver for the doping I used Uschi Line for Rigging and Bob's buckle eyelets for attachments,Albion Alloys Turnbuckles also used. This mount of Thaws had two guns and this is the over-wing Lewis I choose to build. Thanks for Looking Comments Always Welcome Regards Bill

  17. Hello Mike

    A thought from a Senior modeler(65).

Any concept of posting notices with Award Winning models  for viewing Saturday during Show hours.

    1. Cards with models stating Award Winner. (1a) Not what the award is ,only that it is a winner.

    2. Concerns about Banquet attendees are mute as awards are announced after Banquet.

    3. Models leaving if not winners is a risk but as a National attendee I am there for the whole convention ,not just winning an award. (3a) Registration rules state models are not to leave showroom until after Awards ceremony.

    4. Allow much more review of show results, rather than just a brief slide photo and glimpse before packed Saturday night.

    5. This method of display has been accomplished in numerous shows worldwide, including World Model Expo in Telford England.

    Cheers

    Bill

  20. This was a "Out of Box" project. This kit I will recommend as not a difficult build but loaded with nice items such as Missiles nice interior,Great Decals. This is my first attempt at a F-14 and their interesting "wear" schemes. Kit decals were by Cartograf and worked very well. Paint was Vallejo for most part with Gunze used for the Cockpit exterior section. Final finish was Testors "Dull-Coat" decanted. A friend of mine with aircraft photography said dirty and flat is accurate. Most photos I found verify this. Thanks for Looking Comments Welcome Regards Bill
  21. Thanks Sir appreciate the positive comments Regards Bill
