  1. Excellent choices Rusty, "X-The Unknown", is a very cool flick, and you pretty much match me on top 3 choices. 2001 just "totally blew my mind" as an eight year old kid. Saw it in the now long gone, 180 degree sized "Panoramic" Screen, at a huge Movie Theater in Montreal. Few can argue that Kubrick "pushed the limits" of the time, with that classic work! Thanks for your input!
  2. As well as I Mike, so many models left, so few brain cells operational!! Yes, there seemed to be some physical "differences"such as the "slight webbing" on the Hands, however, as the series developed, these seemed to "dissapear". It seems the Aliens got their Molds improved! Ha!
  3. I remember that! And a Cameo appearance on "X-Files", as well! For the state of the imaging abilities of that era, "The Invaders" was quite good, and a little scary for a young kid, but OOooh, such fun! I bought the entire series on DVD on E-Bay. Fair warning, although the DVD packaging appeared quite genuine, all the shows start to get "whacky", and lock up towards the end of each episode, on my DVD player. Obviously, a very good looking "Bootleg" set, with problems for the viewer. I don't recommend you buy the set, it's got problems, darn it all!!
  4. Sure, that's a SF/Fantasy hybrid film! I loved it, good choice Ron!
  5. Oh, you "Hit the nail on the Head" there Hanson!! I think it helps hide the fishing line, holding up the model, hoho! Only approx. 10% +-, of sightings, or images are considered, "unexplained phenomena", with no "Earthly explanation". The other 90% are errors in identification, explainable atmospheric occurrences, or, yep, fraud! <_< I've seen a few objects, especially while I was living on the West Coast, that were incredible, so I do believe they exist. But some of those pictures are so poor, you gotta wonder. You make a good point, and the obvious answer is, I did clear images so you could see, it's a MODEL!! Although, if a few distortion elements, "A la Photoshop", were added, bet they'd look just like all those great fake images! Some great vintage fakes were submitted by George Adamski, the first self-proclaimed "Contactee" from the 1950's, who made a fortune with his UFO books. The fuzzy B/W Images, were quite convincing, even to me. But the "Saucer" with the 3 "Domes" underneath, a very famous "fuzzy" image, a real "Classic", in UFO lore, turned out to be the top section, of a Vacuum Cleaner of that era! Just some "UFO Trivia" to exemplify exactly what your saying!! Good one Dude! :D
  6. Wow! Now that's crafting at it's finest, real "hard-core" modeling, love it! Many thanks for sharing, in such detail, Ed!
  7. Cool! Will check that out Mike!
  8. Your most welcome Ewahl! And thanks for sharing these great images of your work!
  9. Yes, the HUGE 28 inch Diameter version, now out of production. I have 2 in stock, and "their Mine, ....all mine......Muhahahahahah....." Here's a picture, already posted somewhere around here, of the big Saucer on my Painting Table. Nice kit, but it's very hard to handle due to the enormous size of it completed!
  10. WOW! Nicely done Ed! Superb finish and detailing work! Love the Railing details on the ramps, and the overall look of the model's presentation! Papa likes this one!!
  11. All good solid choices Max! "Alien" and "Aliens", have come up a lot lately!
  12. I've enjoyed both these flicks, Vin tends to mumble his lines, in many of his other films, but these 2 were quite good. Chronicle was panned by the critics badly, however it's become sort of a "Cult" status film, among the "Hard-Core" SF types, as well as "Pitch Black", which was quite scary! Interesting choices!
  13. I use to "drool" over the RC Tanks, and other motorized prop models, not to mention the great Buildings! Use to build huge Lego versions, and destroy them with Godzilla Roars! Jeez, good times! It's a shame to grow up in some ways, in others, the "Kid" lives on inside you, somewhere....
  14. Geez, yes, I see that, imagine waking up to this guy, waiting on your morning Train, with a hangover? YIKES! ....owww my head.....
  15. Hey! Those are excellent choices, James Mason was great in "Journey", I remember that well! The Abyss was really spectacular for special effects, Godzilla films, which includes Mothra, were my favorites as a kid. Watching all those great scenics and buildings getting shredded, was a primary influence on my desire to become a modeler! And "Invader from Mars" is a spooky film, I totally agree, eek!
  16. Highly underated, and didn't do well at the box office, but I also liked it. It's an SF/Fantasy mix film. One of those "Hybrid" films, but quite enjoyable!
  17. Good choices, all classics! On Dr. Strangelove, that's not technically an SF film, it's a political satire/comedy, that Kubrick did very well! One of my favorite movies however!
  18. Oh, and BTW, although not SF, "Clerks" was pretty darn funny!
  19. Gosh, you are being kind! El' Stinko Deluxe it was!!
  20. Thanks Dave, it was a "Beast" to build, a big sucker! The moveable Wings were a nice touch, but you have to be careful moving them, or scratch some paint. It was a pain to pack, but it got there safely, via UPS which charged a ridiculous fee to do it! UPS, "Unbelievably Priced Shippers", hohoho.......
  21. I completely agree! The first and second should be "bonded" together, as the first is a "Prequel" in my mind, to the more action packed "Aliens", which is the best of the lot, after that, it's a downhill slide in quality for this franchise. The character "Hudson" is a blast in that one, most fun character in the film! The last few chapters, Alien III and so on, however somewhat entertaining, were not up to "spec" with those first 2 releases. I am honestly suprprised, that no one has mentioned one of my "Top Ten" list inductees, the 1953 release of the classic "War of the Worlds". A film I have watched at least 50 times, Mmmm....very interesting.
  22. Good ones! I have to admit that I rank "Army of Darkness" as a "GP", but it was very entertaining! "This is my "Boom Stick!"
  23. Nice, "Silent Running" definitely struck a "cord" with a few members. I saw it at a Drive-In, many years ago, and it did make a strong impression on me. "Aliens" is a great film, in my "Top Ten"!
  24. All good choices, and the Gunstar was cool! I watched Tron many times, good flick!
